It is the Zip 312 but I can not find any where on the machine or the instruction what size it is.It is a big one as I have not seen any larger than mine, I think it is a 6 Lbut I can't actually confirm it.

Cheers

Thanks, I'll just have to try again, the yeast had been in the cupboard a while, but was in those individual foil packets and use by date is next year sometime.I'll have another go, being more precise with the recipe.

Bother I just brought a new bread maker, this receipe sounds great. I do know the old crocks pots ( hang on to one if you have it) heat from the bottom the newer ones have the element around the sides and are much hotter. Not really slow cookers any more. I brought a new sunbeam one and hate it, food it cooked by mid day instead of tea time.

Buy a timer from Noel Leemings. About $8 and you can set the slow cooker to start and stop at whatever time you like.

Yay success first time with this recipe thanks so much for posting it I halved the recipe for our 3.5 L slow cooker its way better than using my very old bread maker.

Hi onekiwigirl, just a couple of questions, where do you buy your Lecithin from, at what point do you add the oil and do you always sift your flours. Thanks

norse_westie, May 25, 11:39pm
Yesterday I made a spicy fruit loaf as I have always loved this as toast. (The commercial one that is). My kids always hated it. I went easy on the spices, but enough to taste, or rather smell. I added some left over fruit mince from Xmas fruit pies, and some spiced stewed apple I had made earlier in the week. The loaf is utterly divine and every single one of my 7 kids has fallen in love with it. The blardy little devils have eaten the entire loaf!

Its so handy. I do porridge for my kids, and I find its mushy and overdone if I leave it on all night, so I set it to start at 2am and turn off at 7 so its nicely done when they all stumble out of bed looking for hot food.

To answer onakiss I buy the Lecithin at some of the supermarkets, Paknsave Mt Albert has it, I think some of the New Worlds also have it, yes it can be hard to find but some food store do have it either in granules or powder form either is okay. I add the oil with the water and I never sift the flour.Cheers

Thank-you. Have made 2 loaves so far and everyone loves it. Really like the idea of making it low cholesterol.
