One xmas years ago in aussie all rellies came for lunch sitting eating my salad and my uncle who was sitting next to me says Turn your fork over on doing this there was a great BIG FAT JUICY SNAIL looking me in the eye yuk never eaten lettuce to this day.lol

One Christmas we were dragged along to Nana's place, she served bacon poached in milk.I still remember my mother glaring at us when the three of us kids refused to eat it.I nearly choked on a piece of bacon as Nan hadn't removed the rind.To top the day off my sister and I were both given a Xmas pressie that consisted of an apron (with the 10cent price sticker still on it!)

Posted this elsewhere but it seems to belong here among other worst-ever meals.
I have always hated tripe but I learnt recently of a Tripe Club in Sydney. As the saying goes, 'One man's meat is another man's poison'.
"The Tripe Club is a group of tripe lovers and their guests who meet for lunch several times a year to enjoy the delicacies and nuances of well prepared tripe dishes. There are over 200 members of the club who are typically business people. Attendances for lunch range from 60 to 100. Lately, the attendances have been at the upper end of that range."
A flatmate used to make curried checkpeas in bulk and freeze them in containers for her nights to cook dinner. Eventually she found out 2 of us were going to the pub for chips and steak and the other would visit a different friend each week for dinner on what we called "chickpea night". I dont like hot spicy food as I like to enjoy my meal and be able to taste thrdifferent flavours.

for some reason mashed anything is unpalatable to me.but if I grate the Parsnip and carrot together with a sec or two offast cooking , knob of butter and salt & cracked pepper its beautiful.

The worst would probably either when I was young and our mother took us to lunch at a friend of my grandma's and we got served artichoke soup - my mother is still horrified by her rude children who refused to eat it!
But the worst meal I made was rogan josh.DH and me both had two mouthfuls each before spitting it out and having sandwiches for dinner! Had to wait about ten minutes cos you couldnt taste anything as it was too hot.

yesterday, Mr Sossie made an omelette. Normally his omelettes are ok, not very well seasoned, and have "normal" omelette fillings,
However yesterday he made an omelette with. chinese style frozen mixed veg.and squeezy mustard sauce. And he didn't beat the eggs properly so it was a mixture of cooked egg white and cooked yolk. And there were bits of pineapple in it from the frozen stir fry veggies.

mine would have to be at Bayveiw Chateau on Mt Tongariro.the one where the they lost our booking,the young waiter lectured me about binge drinking and i got food poisoning fromthe undercooked (read raw) duck! we went as a special treat,waited 1.5 hrs to get into our room,confirmed our booking for the restaurant with reception,got to restauarant and had no booking,ordered lemon lime and bitters only to drink with dinner,had the duck which i had nver had before.commented to hubby in was similar texture to just cooked venison.asked for a baileys with dessert,drank that ordered another,asked for a double,was told that was a double so asked for a triple.to be told we are a nation of binge drinkers and he couldn't do that,so after spluttering (couldn't believe this 20 yr old) asked for no ice,half the milk.his reply was that should amuse the barman.then spent all night on the toilet with food poisoning.revenge is sweet a week later the waiter came into where i work to buy alcohol.i had to id him.told him to be careful we are a nation of binge drinkers.man did he glow!would never go back to the chateau or recommend it.service was terrible!

Anything ready made out of a supermarket. The worst meal I saw and thankfully wasn't offered was a friend who made "macaroni cheese". Boil noodles, add heaped spoonfuls out of this giant can like one of those large milo tins. What was it! Cheese powder apparently. Her polite kid picked, her rude kid said a bunch of unreapeatable things and threw it in the sink. I had to agree with him after smelling it.

was something I cooked unfortunately.Trying to be healthy and something different, not using meat.
Kidney bean patties ughhhhhhhhhhhhh, doesn't help it was the ;last thing I consumed before my7 day gall bladder attack thatattack that led to having it removed. Worst week this year. Every time I think of the patties I want to be sick all over again. Made them for tea, 3 hours later it started.

Not a meal but DH and I were invited to have coffee with someone we had recently met, all was going well till I got to the end of my coffee and looked in the cup I had just drained and saw the what looked like remnants of a chicken noodle cup of soup, must have been in there for a while as the noodles hadn't even softened, gross

Just thought of another one. DH decided to make an omelette type thing from a recipe book, it had anchovies in it but didn't state how much to put in. Never having had anything to do with anchovies before he chucks about half the bottle in, it was awful tasted like rotten fish I swear I will never eat fish again dont know why anyone would want to eat those things in anything
