Boysenberry Brownie
http://www.foodinaminute.co.nz/Recipes/Boysenberry-Chocolate-Brownie
I made this for the family and it was a HUGE success. Everyone LOVED it. I only had 2 eggs so I substituted 1T golden syrup for the missing egg. It's the first time I've made it so not sure how much difference the golden syrup made but I can recommend the addition of it. The syrup was not that popular really though. I'm not a huge huge fan of boysenberries so next time I make this I am going to try it with raspberries I think. Or maybe dried apricots and white chocolate pieces. Mmmmmmm
Edited to add: mine didn't look anything like the picture but it tasted good.

Just tried caramel walnut slice (#41) but swapped the walnuts for chocolate buttons.yumyum

cookessentials, Apr 30, 11:20pm
firefly - do you not like walnuts! as this is a beautiful slice to try -even if you dont like them -the taste is quite different to what you would expect. Midi-citrus slice, I am sure there is one here somewhere.

cookessentials, Apr 30, 11:31pm
Midi, I have trawled the thread and that is ONE recipe that is not on here. The nearest is pam.delilah's passionfruit slice which is similar on post #387. I am sure I do have a citrus slice recipe though, so shall see if I can find it.

Hi cookessentials - walnuts aren't something I would normally have in the pantry and we only had about 1/3 of this packet of chocolate buttons left (little hands helped themselves to the other 2/3 - not me no way uhuh).Unfortunately the slice only lasted the day it was so yum

Icing: 1 1/2c icing sugar, 2T cocoa, 1T butter, hot water. Sift flour & cocoa into bowl. Stir in brown sugar, cornflakes or weetbix. Melt the butter & add to the dry mix with the vanilla essence. Press into slice tin and bake @ 180°C for 25mins. Cool before covering with icing. Icing: Melt butter, sift in icing sugar & cocoa. Add enough hot water or milk to mix to spreadable consistency. Add extra coconut to the top if you desire. You can also add a drop of peppermint essence to the icing if you want a choc peppermint crunch.
