Has anyone tried the cordon bleu chicken recipe yet?

bedazzledjewels, Jun 3, 1:23am
I wonder about the oat bran used in the recipe? I think!
Would LSA do instead?

uli, Jun 3, 2:32am
Or even psyllium?

kirinesha, Jun 4, 4:57am
I prefer oat bran - it gives some texture to the coating and is high in fibre. I think LSA could be ok but psyllium doesn't appeal at all, think it would turn to either mush or cardboard!

We've just added some new recipes - fabulous wee flaxseed and apple hotcakes (to have with bacon! ) and a blue cheese vege medley gratin.

I've found a couple of other things to try this weekend too - love having time to play round with recipes!

kirinesha, Jun 7, 1:23am
It has been a busy weekend - one of hte winning recipes for the month - Chicken Cordon Bleu is up.

Also added some fabulous little baked coconut custard pots (and a chocolate version too! ) from Chef Helen. .

wow I didn't realise my coffee with coconut oil and a dash of cream could taste so good, yummy.
I went off the tracks yesterday as my dear wee son is selling chocolate and I bought and ate... . was very cross with myself.

Thanks Charlie :)

We've think we've got some great recipes going up and a nice community feel. It certainly keeps you on your toes having to develop and try new dishes all the time - gets you out of that recipe rut!

Lovely new recipe up for Imam Bayildi with Feta.

For those who haven't have it this is a famous Turkish stuffed eggplant dish (all vegetables), and very yummy!

kirinesha, Jun 11, 9:23pm
The new recipe that's just gone up for coconut piklets/roti (in the breads, muffins and hotcakes section) is gorgeous! I've been missing roti with my curries and this looks like a perfect option!

kirinesha, Jun 11, 11:33pm
If you're game for a chilli pick me up for breakfast try the Ekuri (Indian Scrambled Eggs) recipe just added. Great for lunch too if you can't face chilli that early.

Personally, I love it! ! !

Had great fun last night cooking one of the winning recipes for May - Baked Chorizo Stuffed Squid Tubes! Yummo!

Definitely dinner party to impress stuff! The recipe looks complicated but it's only because I've broken it down into steps. It was nowhere as hard as it looks, and the results were great!

That recipe has been added to the site under Fish & Seafood.

Made a great discovery tonight - I adapted a flaxseed focaccia recipe to make a LSA and herb bread topping for a dish of casseroled beef! You just do it the same way as making dumplings- pour the batter on top and into the oven to cook for 25mins. It rises and forms a lovely crusty, mine was about 2cm thick. I also added a little oatbran for a little more texture to the bread.

It made a fabulous bread (which I had added fresh rosemary to) over the meat and so perfect to mop up the gravy with! The recipe is in the beef section but could be used over any baked dish - a meat or vege stew.

Hi all, just jumping over from a thread I started in the Health MB. I've just started on low carb eating onthe advice of my Dr and I'm loving it!

I haven't had bread, spuds, pasta or sugar for a little over a week (those are things I thought I couldn't live without! ) and I've lost a little over 2kg so far!

I have not felt hungry at all, and in fact, I'm starting to notice a little more energy. I feel full after I eat now and still ok, not stuffed and stodgy like I would b4 low carb life.
I'm definitely a convert and I look forward to trying some of these recipes

kirinesha, Jun 15, 10:29am
I've just added 2 new recipes - Chicken Braised in Garama Masala (chicken section) and a lovely side dish of mildly spice broccoli (hot vege section) with ginger and mustard seeds.

Perfect cold night food!

kirinesha, Jun 18, 5:49am
New recipe up - a leek and pancetta tart made with a coconut flour pie crust! ! ! Helen has been experiementing all week to get us a crust which will satisfy all those cravings for pies and tarts - and she's cracked it!

I'm trying her Chicken in Garam Masala tonight :)

bedazzledjewels, Jun 18, 6:14am
She should write a cookbook!
