By chance found that keeping them wrapped up in the plastic supermarket bag in a cool room they last for ages.

fruit & vege shops have theres in a boxwith a plastic bag liner and kept their banans in the frige, why cant you, they do not go black as long as you cover them

Make sure she enjoys the bananas because here in WA we are paying abut $17 a kg for bananas. Just not worth buying curently. Atleast apple prices have come down. We were paying $10kg not so long ago. All these disasters around Australia has not helped with the fruit and veggie prices

mmmm, opened the bag of bananas thursday morning, and they were fine. a little speckled, but not gone mushy or soft.
will present them on her breakfast tray in a few minutes.
She is having a sleep in, as takes a while to organise time frame in brain.....lol.lol

Its WAY too late but the Mr LOVES bananas-I hate them.Trouble is he didnt eat them fast enough before they went brown and yucky.I went to the aquasitions shop in Albany and found this awesomw invention a 'banana bag'.You stick your bananas in thebag, pop it all in the fridge and they stay lovely until you eat the last one (within reason...-usually a week or so)
