Thought I might enjoy the sun and pick a few pipis. Wheres the best beach in Auckland?

You really do have to go a long way north or south of Auckland or any big NZ town really to get a feed of pipis or any shellfish for that matter maybe try Awhitu peninsular or Kaipara. If I named a specific beach on the net then that would be the end of that beachs stocks within a few weeks.

Thanks beaker, thats the plan tomorrow go for a bit of drive. Good point wouldn't want others best pipi patches to be bare. Been ages since I've been pipi picking I will try the spots I remember from way back. Other wise a nice day at the beach, in the sun is all good with me lol.

lots of cockles at Cornwallis(11km from Titirangi, West Auck).
I dont know why... but a lot of people call cockles..pipi's!No pipi's at Cornwallis though... just cockles (like baby clams)
