"Reilly's Peanut Butter

(Was Peanutbutterland)

Yes! Now you can buy peanut butter made to traditional principles. One less job to do yourself.

Organic red skin peanuts are soaked, slow roasted, then turned to peanut butter. The only other ingredients are sea salt, raw honey and organic coconut oil. It's packaged in a glass jar, and you can buy 400ml of pure taste pleasure for only $9.

This is peanut butter you can eat off the spoon for a quick snack. Even people who turn up their noses at supermarket peanut butter fall in love with this product.

As well as all the usual peanut butter uses, try this recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Slice:

Melt together 200g Zenian coconut oil, 3 Tbs honey, 1 pot peanut butter and 3 Tbs cocoa or carob powder. Add any extras you fancy, such as dried fruit or extra nuts. Line a Swiss roll tin with baking paper, pour in the mixture and set it in the fridge. It's not transportable, but any time you're at home and need a snack, break a small bit off. It's very sustaining, but with the Zenian oil, it's also stimulating.

By special request, Reilly is now making some jars honey free just for us" (frpm Nature foods NZ website)

I had a good look at the peanut butters yesterday, I actually walked away without a jar... . The one I thought was made in Aussie, actually says, with peanuts from china on the label... Which led me to believe the peanut butter is "bottled' in Aussie with peanuts processed in China... . I also found a New Zealand made peanut butter made with peanuts from china, [that had 2cm of oil on top , the bottom peanut butter looked dry]? ? ? ? ? ? ? same thing... . so guess what is going to be my next thread... .

I buy only Ceres Organic Peanut Butter - crunchy or not - made in NZ. It's just like the Peanut Butter you could buy many years ago where you have to stir in the oil. This one is particluarly delicious. I would never consider anything else.

Pic's fan here too. Mmmmmm, yummy.

bedazzledjewels, Jun 28, 7:36pm
Ceres make nice nut butters but I doubt the peanuts are NZ grown. They should get theirs from Uli!

Well I have just ordered a jar from Pic's so I hope it's as good as you lot say. I am a bit confused as to why I didn't get a confirmation email as well so yes, they should look at communication skills.

I am pretty sure that the one from Chantal wholefoods is made here, in fact I think you can make your own at their store.

cookessentials, Jun 28, 9:25pm
They have the Kia Ora organics peanut butter and it is lovely too.

Yes, I buy this one as well. Urgh, peanut butter with sugar in... . is gross. Why do they do that? I quite the Ceres butters - almond and cashew.

darkraven1, Jun 28, 10:51pm
I only buy the KRAFT Nuts peanut butter... . has written on jar-100% Aussie peanuts. It is very yummy.

wildflower, Jun 29, 4:07am
I know it's Australian but the Sanitarium one with no added sugar or salt is good and easy to find in the supermarket. Some of the crappier brands have all sorts of stuff added these days, that's so wrong!

tinkagirl, Sep 17, 5:58pm
kraft, kraft and only kraft... . even my american rellies only like kraft
