You're right. "sniggers" is not an appealing image.

I humbly apologise.

Nice one Samanya. I'm a lazy bugger, and what's it to anyone else if I am? I'll use the BBQ hot plate predominantly for its size. The liner I bought had a plastic feel to it but as to what its chemical make up is I do not know. Possibly better for me than the charred bits I often get straight off the cast iron. I don't profess to be an expert so I guess I'll keep trying new things. We can't all be perfect at everything we do can we. Except A few individuals who end up with health issues trying to live up to self imposed standards.

Ok so it's Teflon glass fibre cloth and it lasts about six cooks.

Hilarious!

The meat browns exactly as it does on the hotplate, tastes exactly the same, silicone (oiled as per post #9) does NOT blow away and if cooking for 20, doing meat, fish and marinated chicken plus the sausages, plus griiled veg, all on the stove indoors whilst socialising? Get real.

Lazy? Yep. Efficient. Yep.

Many commercial bakeries often now use the silicone rubber bakeware and I don't think there have been any health warnings so far.

My oven tray liner which takes heat to 250 degrees has been used at least 18 years , looks awful, bakes well. Silicon.
Gets a damp wipe, no other washing.

Using things invented to make our lives easier does not mean the user is lazy. Not many people I know use home made candles instead of electrickery, or wash clothes by banging them on rocks in a river. Lazy sods lol
