Something easy to make without expensive ingredients and easy to transport. this is a winter BBQ on my friends deck and it will be pretty chilly! Ideas would be appreciated.

What about grilling some pineapple on the bbq, perhaps with a rum sauce, just to keep those winter chills out obviously! Bananas stuffed with chocolate, then wrapped in foil.

Yummy idea. We tend to have a late cook up so bananas might go brown. Pineapple sounds yummy though.

As an extra, why not do some bananas directly on the BBQ. .
when we were in Raro, they got some near ripe bananas and sliced them in half, lengthwise, leaving the skin on. . place them flesh side down and cook on BBQ. . and when all caramelised, turn over to skin side to keep warm and cook a little. . delicious with french vanilla ice cream. . and a drizzle of syrup. .

A chocolate self saucing pudding can be made earlier in the day and reheated just before serving or a sticky date cake can be made in advance and you can serve it with hot caramel sauce and icecream. Otherwise serve a banana cake warm with hot caramel sauce and icecream.

Or apple and pineapple rings / fritters and maybe reheat wrapped in tin foil on the barbie

Hi fisher that was how we used to do bananas to go with our BBQ, have them with the meat and salad, along with pineapple rings etc- never thought about using them as desert - what a great idea - thanks for that.
