And now I've decided on roast beef I can't flipping find any in the supermarkets around here other than rolled rib which we've had before and didn't enjoy

Aww rats. My kids are whining they are sick of roast lamb every Sunday and I have been pressured into cooking lasagna. I cant back out of it now I've promised it.

sarahb5, Aug 3, 3:05am
Might end up being roast chicken instead but might make Yorkshire pudding and have it dessert style with syrup or ice cream

I think we might have roast lamb as a treat tomorrow night since it's on special at New World this week . grocery day tomorrow morning so will pick some up in the morning and come home to put it in the crockpot or in the oven, then maybe cottage pie or similar for dinner with the leftovers on Monday night.

beaker59, Aug 4, 3:45am

Mr's Nan was from yorkshire. One of her specialities was making pancakes with the yorkshire pudding batter and serving them with onion gravy. OMG. to DIE for. Yum!

I agree you can't beat a roast, whenever we have visitors on a Sunday out comes the leg of mutton, old traditions die hard thank goodness.

toadfish, Aug 4, 6:44am
I was sceptical at first. think more commercialisation and personally thought more likely to be organised by the Beef & Lamb board. but then thought. what the heck. any excuse for a family roast is ok to me.

Lamb Roast with all the trimmings here. possibly finished off with an apple crumbleNom nom nom
