Hi ladies, i bought some mushrooms today, actually to make a sauce for my son whos company is having a work bbq. Anyway i got quite a few of them and thought might keep these to cook xmas day. Ive always kept them in their paper bags and then in the vege bin in fridge. Is this actually the best way, considering the shops always have them just sitting on the shelf. I dont want to waste them and hope to keep them till sunday for xmas. thanks in advance

I think the paper bag in the fridge is the best way.Remember that the shops are turning them over daily, not storing them for any length of time.

Yup.IMHO you are doing the right thing.paper bag in vege bin of fridge. Sitting on the shelf of the supermarket you can start to see them browning up. here's a trick.I push all the top ones to one side and pick those from the bottom. They haven't been exposed to the air and are still nice, white and fresh.
