Bollocks.you could always call them plums :-)

lyl_guy, Sep 23, 7:48am
Methinks buzzy needs to set about making more honey, instead of turning things to custard!(Albeit a WONDERFUL Edmonds' packet variety).

samanya, Sep 23, 7:50am
I'm going to say ffs!
& I might get told off too!
Who is trying to impose their standards on you .what right do they have!
You say it as you see it & if anyone is offended .in this day & world .they have the problem, not you!

sossie1, Sep 23, 7:52am
Anyhoo, waiting for more cheats from other posters, especially sauces if you have them, and also easy peasy more unusual salad dressings, as I am oomphing up the veggie garden a lot more this year

rainrain1, Sep 23, 8:01am
We call eggs bumnuts, that's gotta be cheating.I don't tell my chooks though, I whisper in front of them

samanya, Sep 23, 8:07am
Pssst .don't tell anyone, I sometime useinstant chicken stock *shock horror* .for almost authentic recipes, if I don't have the real thing in the freezer.

hestia, Sep 23, 8:10am
I reckon that it would work. Go ahead, make it!

samanya, Sep 23, 8:24am
I will give it a go .was it hard to mix the crumbs & choc without the choc setting!

lyl_guy, Sep 23, 8:28am
So. I do an AMAZING easy 'tandoori chicken' based on the ubiquitous Annabel Langbeins' recipe.
Mix about 3Tbs tandoori paste with about 1/4 cup plain greek yoghurt, and a squirt of lemon juice. spoon over chicken pieces (slash first so the flavour seeps in) and marinate it for at least an hour or two.Bake in oven about 45mins or till cooked.Sorry, can't give accurate measures, as this is a non authentic recipe.Try it!

This cheat sauce is from my children who used to mix equal parts of mayo and tomato sauce together to dip their chips into.It was a delicate rosyblush colour :)

I melted the chocolate in a bowl over a pot of hot water. When the chocolate had melted, I took the pot off the stove, but left the bowl over the pot of water - the residual heat from the steam should help to keep it somewhat liquid. Then I chucked the crumbs into the chocolate and mixed it in. The chocolate was a little bit sticky, but I was still able to mix it in. If the chocolate sets too quickly, I think it would still be okay to re-heat the pot on the stove a little.

Thanks hestia.I will try this next time I have guests .a bit decadent for an every day dessert for this household (a couple of flatmates).

hestia, Sep 23, 9:41am
Then they will think that you're amazing.

I've made the cherry ripe biscuits posted by cookessentials.I actually halve the recipe and pop them onto little biscuits - like tiny teddies only bigger.Bin Inn have packets of biscuits that are about half the size of a normal biscuit. These are so rich that they need to be in small doses - they are a birthday party treat in our house. Also, the mix looks like it just will not go together but keep on mixing and mixing and it works.A very special treat for sure. And to the person who asked - definately need kremelta - I don't think you really 'taste' it though.

ha ha, we call them bum eggs

jessie981, Sep 23, 10:05am
Tomato & Worcester Sauce mixed is yummy with pies & fish & chips.

sossie1, Sep 23, 10:11am
i just read thats how you make quick butter chicken, after the marinating you cook the chicken in a pan, then add a tin of tomato puree, paprika, more yoghurt and a few other things I can't remember, although you probably add the yoghurt at the end as I think it goes a bit yuk if you cook it for too long.

I had a beef madrass recipe that had a "procedure' that took forever, frying half the garlic first, 2 types of fresh chilli, fresh tomatoes, finely chopped onions. Honestly the preparation took longer than the bloody
I only made it once
One day I chucked everything in a food processor, used chilli powder instead and poured in over the meat in a crockpot

Just did, interesting reading. maybe its the wine. but I believe everyone has the right to live a happy well balanced life and I genuinely worry about some of the posters on these boards. Why would you hang our somewhere just to cause conflict and confront strangers. I just truely don't understand it.

Nighty night all. this is way too late fora toadie.

evorotorua, Sep 23, 6:55pm
Hi Toadie. I introduced myself way back on page one but I'll do it again. Hi, my name is Erica and I don't always cook by the book. Nice to meet you here.

evorotorua, Sep 23, 9:09pm
Just talking to my 21 year old daughter. She told me she had celebrated the handing in of her report with a 'milkshake' Good for her. a tub of chocolate yogurt, some milo and Irish cream all whipped up. un-authentic to the max.
