Oooh, do you have a recipe for those! preferably un-authentic though.

cookessentials, Sep 26, 9:20pm

Fromthread "Best gourmet pizza base please":

This obviously belongs here in case anyone is led astray by believing that Farrah Wraps are authentic gourmet fare ;)

elliehen, Sep 27, 3:07am
I'm wondering about a recipe using 'rat's fig' too ;)

elliehen, Sep 27, 3:48am
Definitely unauthentic and a great idea :)

I would add the suggestion of jars of pureed baby fruit for a jam or jelly on toast.

kay141, Sep 27, 4:18am
Never thought of that but it's usually marmite, marmalade or cheese here.

floralsun, Sep 27, 11:53am
*wonders what lamb mice tastes like!* definitely would be un-authentic!

beaker59, Sep 27, 1:19pm
I'd cut the tails off, tip- use a carving knive, according to the farmers wife anyway.

evorotorua, Sep 27, 4:53pm
It's not even 6am yet! Beaker that made me laugh out loud. Thank you for the humour!

toadfish, Sep 27, 5:52pm
lol imagine coming up with that Nursery Rhyme in todays PC World. Animal rights groups would be protesting in the streets lol.

cookessentials, Sep 27, 8:25pm
LOL, well, i guess you could mix it with the "rats figs" for something REALLY tasty.

vintagekitty, Sep 27, 8:44pm
Rats figs are a popular low carb snack. They are simply rats tails tender basted and during the cooking process swell to resemble figs, they are stuffed with mashed cauliflower to resemble rice and are a snack or can be served with other fat laden meat.

duh, dont you guys know this!

vintagekitty, Sep 27, 8:46pm
yeah shop girl, back to sweeping the shop floors and dusting for you.you have been told.

cookessentials, Sep 27, 8:55pm
no, no, no VK, I am the "bundt tin queen".not sure how "un-authentic" that is.

cookessentials, Sep 27, 9:36pm
LOVE IT!

elliehen, Sep 27, 9:59pm

Just wondering if 'diddly squat' is the gourmet version of 'squat'.

cookessentials, Sep 27, 10:16pm
Maybe the diddle came from the rats fig!.you could then make really un-ahtentic diddly fig squat as a special treat.

lyl_guy, Sep 27, 10:20pm
lol, you've coined a great new phrase there. "you don't know diddly fig squat!"Hmmm. sounds pretty serious!

cookessentials, Sep 27, 11:41pm
yeah, sounds like a disease!

indy95, Sep 28, 12:28am
Good grief, things are really livening up in Recipes these days ! This is starting to sound like the infamous " Squirrel Slice" thread.

indy95, Sep 28, 12:30am
Now that sounds like a winner !

kay141, Sep 28, 1:55am
I'll give the rat's tails a miss thanks.

I have used ready made dips as a pasta sauce and thinned with milk for a salad dressing. Love Good Taste's Creamy Blue Cheese one in both.

elliehen, Sep 28, 1:59am
Now that's a good one!I've stirred a chunky dip through roast veges.

elliehen, Sep 28, 6:01am
