THE ONE ON TVONE THIS MORNING I CAN NOT THIK OF HER NAME DORRY BUT SHE USED WHITE VIEAGAR. METHS AND WATER. I MADE IT UP TODAY. AND I`M THRILLEDWITH IT. I HAVE TWO DOGS INSIDE, AND IT TOOK AWAY THE DOGGIE SMELLS, WHICH BEING RAINY FOR SUCH A LONG TIME I COULD NOT HELP TO AVOID,ANYWAY IT IS INEXPENSIVE, AND WORKS, IT WAS SAID IT GETS RID OF GERMS, GREAR I THOUGHT AS YOU CAN TON BE TO SAFE THESE DAYS.

AND TOP UP THE REST WITH WATER, HI PRESTO.SPRAY IN THE AIR, ONTO SURFUSERS LIKE ONTO A CLOTH AND WIPE HAND PHONES.CELLS AND LANDLINES.DOORS WHERE HANDS HAVE BEEN. SMELLY SHOES.WINDOW SILLS, SURFUSESLIKE TABLES. FRIDG DOORS. AND DON`T FORGET TOILETS FLOORS, DOOR. AND WALLS.AND PAN . SEAT. ETC, ETC,ETC..THE LIST GOES ON. YEP SPRING CLEANING TIME,,,

ALSO GETS RID OF SMOK E SMELLS CHEAP AS CHIPS AND DOES A DARN GOOD JOB, SO YES I HAVE STARTED MY SPRING CLEANING. I INTEND TO DO MY CURTAINS TOMORROW WEATHER PERMITTING MIND.THE VINAGAR SOFENS THE FABRIC AS WELL AND WELL REMOVE SO,E STAINS HOPEFULLY.I EVEN SPRAYED THE SATEE WHICH IS VELVET, SO GO FOR IT, DOES NOT STAIN EITHER..I`M KNACKERED BUT HAPPY..

#44, boakes, answer is half a cup. read posts 862 and 991 in the budgets who needs them thread, that tells how to multiply your 1 litre of vinigar into three litres. I too have tried it, yes it works. Very handy for the washing.

hi westie, bit confused about the amounts i also have dogs in side only they are chi's and with everything just shut up most of the time in winter, want to use something economical and fresh to brighten the house. can u be a bit more specific in the amounts to use please. dying to have a go at this. thanks

don't know where westi is but that's how I read it too. Doesn't sound quite right does it? In the mean time, if you sprinkle baking soda on your carpets and leave it for half an hour to an hour (or while you go out is good) then vacuum it off, that should help with the smells.

Window cleaner (an oldie) Equalamounts of Water , Meths, Kerosene and vinegar in a bottle and sprayand wipe with a polishing cloth.( I cut down on the amount of Kero - (ran out) and still worked a treat.Keepsflys off.

Oven cleaner Oops! the recipe I used was from another list. 1/2 cup ammonia, 1/2 cup laundry powder and 1 litre boiling water into large oven dish. Switch oven off at wall and close oven door. I used some paper towels around door so that no fumes could escape. Leave overnight. Wipe with a cloth and use mixture to get baked on grease off. Works a treat.

Hi all thought Id post the recipes i got from the Good Morning Show 7th August Lyn Webster's recipes. Washing Powder: Makes over a Kg. Use 1 tblsp per load. 125Gm Sunlight Soap, 1Kg of Washing soda. Blend it all in Kitchen blender. Store in a Ice cream container. Dishwasher Powder: Makes aprox 2 cups. Use 1 tblsp per load. 1 Cup Washing Soda, 1 Cup Baking Soda, 1/4 Cup Citric Acid, 1/4 Cup Salt. Store in plastic container. Dishwasher Rinse Aid: Use White Vinegar. Hope this helps someone :D
