I have made this one lots of times - it's yummy.

Choc Banana Bread

(Bill's Food by Bill Granger)

250g (2 cups) plain flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
125g unsalted butter, softened (I have always used salted)
250g (1 cup) caster sugar
4 ripe bananas, mashed
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
175g (1 cup) good quality dark or milk chocolate chips (I use dark chocolate drops)

Preheat the oven to 180 deg.
Sift the flour and baking powder. Mix butter, sugar, banana, eggs, vanilla and chocolate chips in a separate bowl and add to the dry ingredients. Stir, but do not overmix.
Bake for 1 hour 15 mins in a greased and lightly floured19 x 11cm loaf tin, or until cooked when tested with a skewer.
Leave to cool in the tin for 5 mins before turning out on to a wire rack to cool.
Serve sliced thickly with butter.

In English speaking countries Banana bread is the same as Banana cake - both have sugar in them.

In the rest of the world cake is made with sugar and bread has no sugar and is usually made with yeast or sourdough (except for some English "breads" which are made with baking soda or baking powder).
