Banana bread is denser than a cake, I love it especially toasted, cake is soft and lighter and iced, I love it and would like a recipe too, may have to google it!,

Sorry - not the NW one but I use this one from foodlovers.co.nz. Always works well for me and is lovely toasted in the toaster - caramelises the sugar in it beautifully. (Have tried both buttermilk and yoghurt options (I used vanilla flavoured) - both work well). http://www.foodlovers.co.nz/recipes/best-banana-bread.html

3 or 4 mashed bananas 1/3 cup oil or melted butter 1/2 cup sugar 1 beaten egg vanilla 1 tsp baking soda pinch salt 1 1/2 cups flour 1tsp baking powder Mix all together and bake in loaf tin at 180 for 45 to 60 mins I usually double this and freeze one. Add nuts or coconut if you like. Good as a pudding with custard too.
