If you want your crockpot clean, do what I do and put the meat in an oven bag, it's great. As the person above says you don't need any liquid there's plenty in the meat.

How strange - I was just off to pop mine in the SC!

I just stick it in with seasoning and leave it to cook, no special treatment!
