annie42, IMO the following recipe makes a nice creamy dressing for whatever salad you might like to put it with, and would I think be lovely for your cold pasta salad.
SOUR CREAM MAYONNAISE 1 large garlic clove 2 tbsp finely chopped onions 1 dssp mixed mustard ½ tsp each ofsaltandblack pepper 1 cup each ofsour creamandmayonnaise
Blend all together well and refrigerate, covered.

For pasta salads I just make a oil based dressing.or sometimes don't shoot me but buy a cheapie and doctor it up with fresh things.more garlic, chives, etc.saves times when you can get them cheap I buy when cheap through out the year no not organised ;) just keep a pantry well stocked for times like this when money is low.and on a limited budget well stocked back ups are great.
