If you use Google, you'll find some lovely variations, including meringue-topped mince pies there.Good luck.
I'm thinking of making a meringue topping for some bought mince pies and jazzing them up a little.

I have been doing this for a few years now on miniature mince pies.Just made meringue and piped on top, sometimes put fine coconut in it.
