I have my Gran's recipe for custard cream biscuits which is copied from a notebook dated 1921 and the mix is to be baked in a "sharp" oven.I'm thinking in those days probably most ovens were still coal ranges, and that a sharp oven would be fairly hot. It's years since I made these biscuits and can't remember what temp to bake them at.Any ideas please!

Looking at my late mother's cookbook (from the dark ages!) I would say moderately hot - 220'C. There is a recipe for custard tarts baked at Gas Mark 6 which is 220'C and custard cream biscuits I would think would be baked at the same temp.
