What's the general opinion about xylitol (plant derivative) and stevia (also plant). I find stevia too powdery for drinks.

Apparently xylitol is great - looks like white sugar and can be used in the exact same measurements as sugar. However I find it is quite expensive, I see it in Piko (christchurch) for $30-$40 for a medium to large packet.

Our Binn Inn sells a few different brands of Stevia, both liquid and powdered
