So I just made Takaka ginger crunch - what other food is out there named after NZ places !

Sorry to burst your bubble but -
Takaka Ginger Crunch isn't the actual name of this slice. It is called Oaty Ginger Crunch.
It is a recipe from The Wholemeal Cafe in Takaka which is why someone has given it the Takaka reference.

in Frankfurt they call frankfurters wieners .
in Wien (Vienna) they call wieners frankfurters!

No, not now they do not use spring water any more in Lemon & Paeroa, han't done so for 20 or more years.

Hubby grew up in Paeroa and always reckons that when they used spring water, it was very close to the spot where the night cart man used to empty the night cart!
