Absolutely agree, the bone calcifies and splinters like needles, remove the meat from the chicken and throw the bones away.

all depends on where you buy it fromimho.id neva buy chicken from paknslappa but our butchery up the road has lovely chicken.actually id neva buy supermarket meat unless its a bacon hock.the only thing im hanging out for is weiner scnitzel.i have yet to find a source that dosnt come out like cardboard.

Depends on your budget really, freerange/organic is good for roasting, Mr bought some for $5 for the freezer they are Tegal, i do them in the crockpot sitting on a saucerand they are always nice and moist, wouldn't roast them.

If you have a weekend market or Farmer's Market near you - go see if anyone's selling free-range eggs. They also often have their dearly departed chickens for sale as broiling fowls. Cheap but tasty :)
