If hamish was cleaning up as he worked, he wouldnt be balancing his cooling rake at an awful angle over the shared bench

vintagekitty, May 24, 3:15am
tonights the first time ive watched it, since the 3rd episode!. Oh Emily is a clumsy heifer for sure, is it really sabotage!

duckmoon, May 24, 3:16am
I don't think it is purposeful, but just clumsyness.

Either, not OK

vintagekitty, May 24, 3:23am
poor guy beside her, he is very patient!

kymmi, May 24, 3:29am
I think Hamish should've been a bit tidier but Emily is either very clumsy or good at taking out the competition. I hope she goes home.

falcon-hell, May 24, 3:34am
i liked hayley but she wasn't much of a baker, and bens was pretty ugly tonight, next week looks interesting.

kiwigal007, May 24, 3:35am
Think tonight's decision was pretty spot on. And yes, cant wait till next week now! :)

fifie, May 24, 3:52am
Was hoping little miss la de da would go home tonight. Tell me in the shorts of next week, when a cake topples over and Hamish says oh no, please tell me it isn't Miss Emily at it again. Changed my mind about her hope she dosen't win now.

lodgelocum, May 24, 4:26am
What very poor baking tonight, basically dishing up raw pastry. This season is just about not worth watching, these final four are not the hottest home bakers.

bedazzledjewels, May 24, 1:25pm
How can you make the final 6 in a baking competition having never made and cooked pastry before! Amazing! I don't think there'll be another series - there isn't enough talent willing to go through this!
And as for Emily. Maybe knocking over the tart cases was an accident but turning down the oven! Out the door for her!

falcon-hell, May 24, 1:49pm
i would have been pissed about that.

kiwitel, May 24, 2:02pm
Agreed! They are under so much pressure and its a shared bench ~ so noone will be taking as much time as they would at home.It was an accident waiting to happen balancing there. Their brains would be going at a million miles an hour~ stress does affect the brain and ones thoughts and movements.

But doesn't she work as a Paediatric Nurse - I wouldn't thought she would be a lot more organized and 'safe' in her practise.

fifie, May 24, 3:44pm
My thoughts to, should have been sent off.

elliehen, May 24, 6:02pm
Fast home baking is just not made for TV - it looks ridiculous.I'm sure they'd all do better left to bake at a reasonable pace.

bedazzledjewels, May 24, 6:36pm
Actually I think they need some short masterclass type segments where the home baker can learn some of the tricks of the experts. We're learning hardly anything so far!

kateley, May 24, 7:16pm
I've always thought I wasn't a very good baker, but at least I've made pastry, bread etc - and never have had such bad results as this lot.
Even my son, who watched last night and has never baked, said he at least know what to do (ie blind baking the pastry) as there are so many cooking shows on TV that he's seen it done many times.
Surely these inept bakers aren't the best in the country.
My mum and her friends used to produce excellent baking in the 60's that would put this lot to shame

sumstyle, May 24, 7:20pm
Apart from not using our fingers to smooth out icing!

fifie, May 24, 8:02pm
Hard to believe none of this lot know anything much about pastry and how to cook it, yet they call themselves a home baker, even with 15 mins with the experts some get dosen't make much difference.i keep watching hoping to learn something new but it ain't happening so far.

daleaway, May 24, 9:12pm
I agree, #194, which is why I find I can take or leave this type of series - when producers and show-makers know nothing about cooking, they concentrate on the engineered "drama" and "personalities" rather than the food. Meh.

Makes you wonder exactly why they chose the people they chose to enter this one. Makes the viewer feel very manipulated.

I'll stick to the techniques-type food programmes on Food TV for good instruction. Or increasingly, these days, YouTube, which can be really helpful.

spot20, May 24, 10:02pm
The only one who knows her way round the kitchen is Esme.she can actually bake!

bedazzledjewels, May 24, 10:04pm
Yes, she looks like a winner.
I reckon we could all put together a far superior programme.

duckmoon, May 24, 11:24pm
200

eta - doh, 201

duckmoon, May 24, 11:25pm
I am disappointed that we don't see the highlights from the 15 minutes which the winner of the mini-challenge gets with Dean or Pauline.

it would be an interesting way to learn new stuff for those of us at home

dwyn5, May 25, 12:29am
This series has to be a joke. Those Aussie kids on Junior Masterchef could knock the socks off this batch of so-called 'bakers'!
