Scone question?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to make scones without selfraising flour as I hate that stingy baking powder taste you get with selfraising flour.Is there something out there!

try the edmonds book its some thing like 2 cups flour 4 level teaspoons baking powder and 2 table spoons butter milk to mix bake at 400 deg i use less baking powder because i dont like the taste .and toss out any that are not used that day the birds like them

Use highgrade flour and baking powder.Yep, I hate that weird mouthfeel too. is grot.

When recipies ask for self raising flour I always use regular flour and then add a heaped tablespoon of baking powder per cup of flour.
