Any sauces i can have on food would be cool to.im going to keep away from cheese sauce incase its an allergy but might still have plum sauce on chicken etc as its sorta a treat (even tho im a chocaholic lol) though im guessing plum sauce is high in sugar too.
i really want to eliminate the problem.

Google Chai seeds and Constipation - learn about their soluble fiber and how gentle they are. Then you can get them from the bulk bin in most supermarkets, sprinkle them on any thing or just mix in water and skull.

my husband has been like this for years, he gets from his doctor lactalose and also try newlac from the chemist. It is all natual with dates, figs, prunes, kiwi etc.You just need about a teaspoon of it a day and dont go far from the toilet. The lactalose would be better for you though as it will not hurt your bowl.Newlacwill work really well but I would suggest you only use it a couple of times a week as it can iriate the bowl if used for years (so the doctor says but haven't seen any sign of this ourselves).

Chia (I'm sure that is what you meant to say) are fantastic. Have you tried fasting for a 24 hours and drinking lots of water during your fast! This will give your digestive system a breakand a chance to have a good clean out.

What is your diet like normally!

Meat and dairy may play a part in constipation.

I've been oing a bit of reaearch into this as my daughter has it sever! Is on lactulose, now on movicol, next step will be going into hospital to be flushed out.

So, a friend recommends reiki, we may go and do that. But I've just got a book from the library called Maori healing and herbs and the root of the flax bush is recommended. I'm looking into how to make a concoction out of it. I'll get back to you on how we get on - I've just gotten tired of shoving medicine down her throat. hasn't really worked so far

bellasmoons, try this e.g. for breakfast or dessert.

SPICED FRUIT COMPOTE
1 large applee.g.Granny Smith
8 small prunes
4 dried apricots, halved
1 tsp orange zest
½ cup orange juice
squeeze of lemon juice
1 cinnamon stickora generous pinch ground cinnamon
¼ cup water – optional and IMO, not necessary

Peel and slice the apple, then place it in a saucepan with the rest of the ingredients.Cover and simmer gently over a low heat for 10-15 minutes until the apple is tender.Leave to cool a little.Remove the cinnamon stick.Serve the compote on top of or with natural unsweetened yoghurt.
Serves 4.

Hope that helps.:-))

Years ago it was suggested by my naturopath that I have the following first thing in the morning. It certainly worked for me and I still have it periodically as a 'spring clean'.
Add to a large glass warm water
2 dspn aloe vera
1 dspn chlorophyl
1 tsp olive oil
Briskly stir in heaped tspn psyllium husks
Not pleasant to drink but bearable and certainly worthwhile.

Get some good fat into your diet - taking organic coconut oil helps.
Or if that doesn't appeal, try kiwi crush.

lythande1, Aug 6, 3:24pm
I take codiene, which Dr said causes this and wanted to give me some other pills. Nah.
Never had a problem, but I eat kiwifruit often. Also grapes and plums I find are some of the best fruit.

well i had a barium xray 10 yrs ago! they said i had a sluggish bowel. but no one did allergy tests or anything like that. medicines do not work. babytears has she tried the rectal laxatives! only one that works on me. instantly fixed in 15 mins. but they r not a long term cure and are bad to use all the time which is y im not.
when i was heavily pregnant i was cured and went daily, sometimes twice daily. baby came.kiwi crush helped at first but now im back to square 1 except worse because it never used to hurt like this.
i have weetbix for breaky, banana and toast for lunch, meals usually are meat and veg or sometimes pasta or rice. healthy dinner meals.
i do love chocolate and can eat a packet of tim tams or whatever in one sitting lol but im not overweight or anything.

thanks for the bran muffin recipe. im too fussy to touch prunes lol they just look ick. i also hate yoghurt.

i have not gone one day of my life okay apart from when i was heavily pregnant. im so gutted it came back :( i liked being normal

I have had the same problem for years & now have a few things that work for me.
I was buying from Hardys Health store a product called Quick Cleanse, quick fibre, sprinkle 2 Tblsp on your weetbix every morning, the cost was starting to get more each time I bought a tin, so now make my own, recipe as:
700g LSA, 125g Slippery elm, 250g Psyllium, 2 to 3 Tblsp carob powder, 500g Oat Bran, 500g Rice BranMix all together in a big tupperware bowl with a lid, put a smaller container full in the fridge & freeze the rest to take out when required, it does not freeze solid. It tastes nice & can be eaten on stewed fruit or any cereal in the morning.
It might be an idea to buy a tin first & then start making your own, it works out really cheap to make & lasts for a long time.
Also Lifestream Bowel Biotics, a powder that you make into a drink, also from health store, drink first thing in the morning.
A cup of Alphine tea in the afternoon helps, as does Chia seeds daily as mentioned above, in other threads
Natures Sunshine LBS 11 Capsules from health store when I get bad take 2 at night.
Do try any or all of these as they have hepled me, I was having treatment from a specialist for years for really bad hemoriods that would cause very bad bleeding & lots of pain, but now am able to keep things under control by using these suggestions.
Good luck

greerg, Aug 6, 5:49pm
When husbandhad chemotherapy and suffered this problem, 2 kiwifruit a day solved it, although it took 4 of the kiwicrush drinks.Maybe mixing some Sanbran with your weetbix would help too - it tastes awful but mixing it with other things helps.Your menu only has one serving of fruit a day so and banana s are not very high in fibre. Berries are quite good so a handful of frozen berries with breakfast might be useful.
