We were introduced to 'dump cake' while living in the US.Sounds gross but works just fine.
1 can fruit pie filling I packet cake mix - no icing 200g butter
Melt butter in crock pot.when melted tip incanned fruit then sprinkle on the cake mix.Use a fork to mix lightly - consistency should be uneven and lumpy.put on lid and cook on high ( think it takes about 40 mins to an hour).serve hot with ice cream etc.

Banana Fruit Loaf - 150g sugar, 130g mixed dried fruit, 250 ml strong Earl Grey tea (hot), 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 egg (beaten), 2 small ripe bananas (3/4 cup) mashed, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon mixed spice, 260g plain flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder. Preheat the cooker for 20 minutes. Lightly great the sides and line the base of a 6 cup capacity casserole dish with non-stick baking paper. Combine the sugar and dried fruit in a bowl and pour over the hot, strong tea, stir in the butter and leave to cool a little. Add the baking soda, egg and the mashed banana and mix well. Add the sifted dry ingredients and stir briefly, just enough to combine. Spoon the mixture into the prepared dish and cover tightly with foil. Place the dish on a trivet (3 $2 coins are perfect). Pour enough boiling water into the slow cooker to come half-way up the sides of the dish. Cover with lid and cook in a Crockpot/Slow Cooker on High for 3 - 3.5 hours. Lift the dish out of the cooker. Remove the foil and allow to cool for about 10 minutes. Loosen edges with a knife and invert the loaf onto a cake cooler and allow to cool completely.
Quotesherralynne (75 )4:49 pm, Sun 20 Jun #5 Carrot, Ginger and Lemon Cake - 60g raisins, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 120g plain flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 100g wholemeal flour, 170g raw sugar, 250g grated carrot (grated weight), 100g crystallised ginger chopped, 2 eggs (beaten), 3 tablespoons canola oil. Pre-heat the cooker for 20 minutes. Line the base and sides of a 20cm straight-sided casserole dish with non-stick baking paper. Place the raisins and lemon juice in a small bowl, stir and leave to soak. Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon into a bowl. Add the wholemeal flour and stir well. Combine the sugar with the grated carrot, stir in the ginger, eggs, oil, raisins and lemon juice. Pour the sugar and carrot mixture into the bowl with the sifted dry ingredients. Mix together well. Spoon the mixture into the casserole dish and cover tightly with foil. Place the dish on a trivet (3 $2 coins are perfect) in the cooker. Pour enough boiling water into the cooker to come about half-way up the sides of the dish. Cover with lid and cook on High for 3-4 hours in either a Crockpot or Slow Cooker. Lift the dish out of the cooker. Remove the foil and allow to cool for about 10 minutes. Slide a knife between the sides of the dish and the cake to loosen it and turn out onto a cake cooler and allow to cool completely.
Lemon Icing - 1 3/4 cups icing sugar, 2 tablespoons lemon juice (approx), crystallised ginger, finely chopped to garnish. Mix the icing sugar with enough of the lemon juice to make an icing of spreadable consistency. Smooth

From the Alison Holst crockpot book, which also has the best lasagne and meat sauce recipes ever by the way - definitely a good investment as it turns up on deal sites for $10 from time to time:
500-600g dried or crystallised fruit (whatever you like) 1/4 cup sherry, rum, stout or OJ 2 cups flour (plain or high grade) 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1tsp baking soda 1/2-1tsp mixed spice 1/2-1tsp cinnamon 1/4-1/2tsp ground cloves 125g melted butter zest of one orange 1 large egg
Use a heatproof bowl that will fit 4-5 cups and fit in your slow cooker. Coat the dry bowl with non-stick spray, then line with gladwrap or baking paper. Chop the fruit into pieces the size of dried cranberries and put the in a heavy plastic bag. Add the liquid(OJ or whatever) to the bag, then close and microwave everything for about 5 minutes - until the fruit is hot, plump and shiny. The liquid will soak into the fruit as it cools. Cool to room temp.
Put 1-2 cups of hot water in a 2L+ slow cooker, and turn on to high. Mix together the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Melt the butter, add the orange rind. Beat in the egg, add to the dry ingredients. Stir well. Add the fruit mixture and mix gently but thoroughly. The mixture should be wet enough to drop from your spoon. If it isn't, add more liquid.
Spoon the mixture into the prepped bowl, level the top. Cover with foil, folding the edges down over the bowl. Lower it into the slow cooker bowl and put on the lid. Cook on high for 8-12 hours, turn out while warm.
