The operative words in our posts, daleaway, are 'look' and 'read' ;)

You should read the text, elliehen, she's a very cheerful girl in a world where cheerfulness is often lacking.
I loved her recent post about trying to find the best chocolate shops in Melbourne. Now that IS"news you can use".

I'm another Mrs Cake fan,she writes well, has great photos and lives in Wellington so the cafes and restaurants she eats in are also of interest to me.

"A recent blog entry from Mrs Cake says: "Though I love Indian food I think Great India is the only Indian food I've tried in Wellington (our own kitchen excluded). My favourite haunt in Christchurch was Taste of Bengal on Riccarton Road - I don't know it fared in the quakes - it was in a pretty old row of shops, and the lovely gentleman who ran it lived above with his family, so though I very much hope for the best I wouldn't be suprised if it's no longer there. Can any Christchurch people enlighten me! Where do you go when you want a good curry! "

Does anyone have the answer!

Melissa, your blog looks great!

Thanks Ellie (and everyone else) for the kind words! And I would really, really love to hear about Taste of Bengal if anyone is near Riccarton - though we'll be down at Easter so if I don't hear before I can check it out then.

One of my favourite NZ blogs is Lovely Wee Days, which is written by three lovely ladies: http://lovelyweedays.blogspot.com/ Also, there is a new NZ Food Bloggers Alliance (so we can keep track of each other!) and there are quite a few blogs listed on their site already: http://www.foodbloggersnz.com/members

I adore reading 'Sunday Hotpants' (strange name for a food blog I know, but it truly is lovely. A lady from Dunedin with 3 kids writes it and she takes the most beautiful photos. She lost her 9 yr old son unexpectedly and finds writing the blog helps fill the huge gap he left behind :(
I'd highly recommend you check it out: http://sundayhotpants.nocturne.net.nz/
Edited to add that unfortunately the site appears to be doing something to all the photos at the moment and you can't see the images. Hopefully they'll fix it soon :)

Oh dear daleaway. You recommendeda site to look at that isn't entirely devoted to cakes. Brave, brave person. Shakes head in wonder.

I started blogging aroud the end of last year and I love it. I find it's a good way to store recipes and keep family and friends updated on the comings and goings of family life. I'm not a very creative person but I LOVE to bake and I guess that is where any creativity I might have, comes out. The only problem is that I follow so many blogs that it can get a little confusing if I know I want to make a something I have seen but have no idea where. My blog can be found at www.itsallaboutfamilyandfood.blogspot.com
