I made a batch last night and just tried some not long ago, it's starting to taste quite yum and has thickened somewhat. I'm leaving it overnight again (using hotwater cupboard :-)) as I have no yogurt maker but it's definitely doing its thing and becoming 'yogurty' - great stuff :-)

Try leaving it in a pre warmed thermos, might be more effective :)

ant_sonja, Apr 1, 7:37am
Yes it probably would be but haven't got a thermos to use right now. I've just done what I do with my Kefir yogurt, a sealed pre-warmed jar wrapped in a warmed towel in the hot water cupboard - it always works out just takes a little bit longer :-)

I put my container (agee jar) in a chilli bin with a hotty and leave it overnight. Always works for me. In winter I put 2 hotties in

Thanks for this recipe. Can we still buy the lactose from the chemist, to feed the yoghurt bacteria?

uli, Apr 10, 6:05am
Why not simply use a spoonful of sugar janny3?

janny3, Apr 10, 11:36am
Thanks for this recipe.I think I'd like to try it.Can we still buy a small amount of lactose from the chemist!

I don't like too much but have had almond milk yoghurt made w/ just enough lacose to feed the yoghurt bacteria & no more.
