Sift dry ingredients, add yeast Blend milk oil eggs or egg replacer and vinegar. Add to dry ingredients, mix to combine. Press into bread pan. Close lid, bake following breadmaker instructions for a white loaf(about 3 hours) Cut when cold and freeze in slices unless going to eat. Do not double recipe as it overflows pan only use one and a half times the mix for a 1kg loaf. :)

regarding the post on the first page There is a post on the first page that states if people are constipated a gluten free diet will make them worse.
Well i was constipated for 5 days at a time and was told after allergy testing i am wheat and gluten intolerant i now go every day and have since i stopped eating wheat and gluten so sorry i disagree with that comment cause it does fully block some people up i know three people it does the same to
everyone reacts different to things.
This thread great guys loving seeing some recipes to try :)

The post on the first page says "some" people who are already constipated are made worse by the gluten free diet.We are all different and it doesnt matter if we agree or disagree how it is with some people is just the way it is for them. For instance some people who are gluten intolerant have an allergy, not an intolerance or sensitivity, and if they stay off gluten for a few years can "outgrow" the allergy but people with Coeliacs, which is not an allergy or intolerance, must stay on the GF diet for life.Allergies are caused by the immune system, intolerances are non-immune reactions and in Coeliacs gluten damages the lining in the small intestine, which interferes with absorption of nutrients, neither allergies nor intolerances lead to this sort of intestinal damage :)

cathnjim, Jan 6, 9:50pm
I was led to believe that coeliac was an immune response.I found this quote from the coeilac society of NSW "In people with coeliac disease, the body has an
immune (allergic) reaction to gluten."But then I am no doctor, and didn't think coeliac was an allergy, but it must be if the body re-acts to gluten like it does in coeliac.

herika, Jan 7, 3:06am
All the sites Ive read say that once a person is a Coeliac they must stay off gluten for life, but people with an allergy can have it disappear if they stay away from the offending foods for a year or more and can then eat "normally" again. It can be confusing as some sites I have looked at seem to have conflicting information. Allergies usually cause a sudden onset of symptoms such as asthma, nausea, vomiting, hives, rashes etc, intolerances (difficulty digesting gluten) are much more varied and usually have a delay onset. But then Id be a complicated case as I react very quickly to gluten but can take until at least the next day to react to cows milk!In the light of that Im not going to disagree with you, after all we are only going on what we are being told or read :)

Reading the questions and answers section on Dr Rodney Fords website may be helpful :www.doctorgluten.com :)

melford, Jan 7, 8:25am
Coeliac Disease It is a medical condition in which there is permanent intolernace to gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye, barley, triticale and dinkle. Oats contain a similar kind of protein. When gluten is consumed by people with coeliacs disease it damages the lining of the small intestine. The lining of the small intestine normally has finger like propjections called villi which assist in the absorption of nutrients. In people with coeliacs disease there is partila or complete loss of these villi. This decreases their ability to absorp foods properly. If the affected person removes gluten from their diet then the villi will regrow and normal health will resume. If gluten is reintroduced to the diet again then the villi will become damaged that is why coeliacs MUST stay on a gluten free diet for the rest of their lives

melford, Jan 7, 8:29am
Symptoms of Coeliac Disease Adults may have diarrhoea, Tiredness, Anaemia, Weight Loss, Abdominal bloating, Excess Wind, Depression, Osteoporosis and dermatitis Herpetiformis, a condition resulting in a blistering, itchy skin rash that can be easily treated by going gluten free.

melford, Jan 7, 8:32am
Management of Coeliacs Disease Can be successfully treated and managed by a gluten free diet.
On this diet health returns to normal but a strict gluten free diet must be adhered to for life. Coeliacs have different levels of intolerance and there may be some people who are super sensitive to gluten whilest others may be able to tolerate small amounts eg oats.
