Rolled roast cooked in crockpot comes out tender and the juices from it make a wonderful gravy. ( I use fat separator before making gravy) I just push a few garlic slivers into the beef and put it in on low and let it cook all day the longer the better.Bolar or topside roast is even better as it is easier to carve. I buy larger than I need ( this week Aussie Butcher 7.99kg) and get three meals out of it. roasted one day and the following sliced and reheated in the leftover gravy and withthe roast vege from day before reheated in oven to crisp up again. Then the third day chopped up in food processor with onion, gravy, tom sauce etc to make into cottage pie.Or you can serve slice beef with a salad on one of the days but my family love roasts so two days running suits them fine.
