Vegan christmas ideas

cheese-mike, Dec 21, 10:22pm
One of my friends who is coming for christmas is a vegan and I wanted to make another dish that he would enjoy as well as us meat eaters.
We were hoping to take a small picnic for dinner, any ideas?

So far for lunch we have Barbeque-roasted baby potatoes (Vegan)
Barbecued mushroom and pumpkin salad(Vegan)
Corn on the cob (Vegan)
Cherries
Crackers and hummus (vegan)

and for the rest of us we have ham, chicken, potato salad, chips and dip, and probably some more fruit or something.

any ideas would be great

sorry, but you can not cook the food, eg, spuds on the bbq unless its in a dish and different tongs etc used. And make sure meat fat etc does not fly into that dish. Its just even if you cook them on there own on the bbq, the meat taste will taint the spuds etc.

(barloo) who is lacto-ovo vege

He uses his own tongs and cooks food on a separate grill to the rest of us, he doesn't seem to be too worried about splatter etc. I am sure it will be fine :D

rice/couscous/barley salad, bread with olive oil, vegetarian sausages, chargrilled veges on the bbq like eggplant, capsicum, courgette etc, marinated tofu. Don't forget a vegan dessert!
