Would anybody know how many tsp of active yeast would equal 1 sachet. Thanks

Normally 1 tsp - 5g.. but it depends on the brand .. some I have bought are 10g or 2tsp

Thanks maxwell.inc.I don't know what brand sachetit is, recipe just says 1 sachet of yeast it's a muffin recipe, my local supermarket does not stock any yeast sachets, I do have Active yeast so want to substitute.there is 4,&1/2 cups of flour, in recipe I'm guessing at least 1TB ? active yeast.

I buy the Edmonds yeast sachets and each sachet is 96 grams.Hope that helps.

96 grams? are you sure thats not the net weight of the whole box?! my JAR of tasti yeast isnt even that heavy!

I'd go 1.5 teaspoons (not T = Tablespoon)

I would use 1 1/2 teaspoon yeast too. (That is usually how much yeaast my recipes seem to say to use)

I would hazard that amount of cups flour would be about equal to 600gm flour and my breadmaker says to use 3tsp yeast for that amount of flour. If I remember from the last time I had those satches they are approx 3 tsps.
