dd's party tomorrow (lunchtime) & she's wanting mini cupcakes. If I cook them now will they be ok for tomorrow or should I wait until later this evening & try to decorate the cake at the same time?

They will be fine, you can decorate them and the cake too. Just store them in an airtight container until tomorrow.
