Gravy beef is best cooked long & slow so 'stew' is most suitable. Having said that - it doesn't all have to taste the same ... there's lots of slow cooked/stew recipes out there. Mushrooms, onions, garlic, bouque- t garni & red wine ... tomatoes, onions, garlic & oregano ... potatoes, carrots, onions, green beans & bay leaves ... curry ... get the idea? Use the search function on the left of the page ... you will find many tried & true recipes for beef casserole, curry, slow cooker, pies, ... . Hope this helps!

Fry onions, streaky bacon and garlic with the beef. Throw in the crockpot with whole mushrooms and chunky carrots and a whole tinny of guinness. Cook all day and remove lid an hour beforehand and thicken gravy. Divine.
