I need a foolproof apple crumble recipe

Here's my recipe from an old cookbook.
Cream together 4oz butter and 2/3 cup white sugar.Mix in one cup plain flour.

I use oatbran... 1.5 cps oatbran, 1.5 cups rolled oats 1 cp brown sugar, 100g melted butter 1 tsp ginger..mix and top over fruit

Should the fruit be hot or cold when you put the crumble topping on?

pamelie.... is this your recipe?I got it off here yonks ago and didnt save who originally posted it.I've made it over and over again and passed the recipe on heaps.Its a firm family fav... so if it was you I got it off.. THANKSA MIL!!!

charlieb - i made this a couple of years ago from a cookbook - maybe alison holst but can't be sure.Only made it the once but remember it was very nice.
