Basically a bread made from sprouted grains. I used to eat it many years ago, butg gave it up as it did not agree with me. If you try Google, you may find a recipe for it. It is not baked like ordinary bread - it is raw.

If you google "Essene Bread" the first listing is for Thompsons, (as cookessentials mentioned) the second has a recipe, which is on a blue background and difficult to read (my eyes are getting old).
It is thought that The Dead Sea Scrolls came from the Essene Community who apparently were a religious group who led simple lives. (I'm a bit shakey on the details, but again Google would probably help). This is your bit of trivial information for today.
