we are hosting a mid winter Christmas, pot luck dinner next month.
I thought I would serve some mulled wine. Does anyone have a favourite recipe, I don't drink red wine so have never tried mulled wine.
I have googled recipes but I don't know what's good

I rarely drink wine or anything else either, dorothy_vdh, so I don't have a recipe of my own to pass on but this one which comes from Delia Smith might help:

2 x 750 ml bottles medium to full bodied red wine such as a Cabernet Sauvignon
1. 5 litres water
1 orange stuck with cloves
2 oranges, sliced
2 lemons, sliced
6 T sugar or honey
5 cm piece of cinnamon stick
2 t finely grated fresh ginger or ground ginger
2 T liqueur such as Cointreau, Grand Marnier or cherry brandy (optional)

Put all ingredients into a large pan and heat to simmering point, stirring until the sugar has dissolved completely. Keep it barely at simmering point for at least 20 mins but don't let it boil or the alcohol will evaporate.

This can be made in advance and reheated when required. This quantity will make 12 servings. Adjust the quantities of wine and water to suit and add more sugar or honey if you want it sweeter.
