I would say that you would end up with soggy ones if you were to do them in the slow cooker. You could do the casserole and pre-do the pom poms and then just pop them on the top last.

abfab12, I haven't done so AND wouldn't do so either. I'd definitely make the casserole in the slow cooker/crockpot but those Pom Poms require a dry cooking environment (i. e. the oven) - in the moist cooking environment of a slowcooker/crockpot they would simply go sloppy/mushy and would IMO spoil an otherwise very tasty casserole, so "No" would be my answer to your question... . . " Do the pom poms cook ok like that ? "

Take casserole from crockpot and pop in a casserole dish, top with pompoms and pop in the oven to finish off.
