meringue baskets Dip the bottom of baskets in melted chocolate then pipe chocolate instant pudding into basket then grate chocolate over top. I supose you could use any flavour instant pudding really.

Sesame Lamb Spareribs: 1/4 cup soy sauce, 4tbsp lemon juice, 1tbsp sesame oil, 1tsp minced garlic, 2tsp chinese five spice powder, 2tbsp chopped fresh rosemary.Mix togther soy sauce,lemon juice,sesame oil,garlic,five-spice and rosemary.Pour into snap-lock bag, add lamb spareribs and toss to coat.Allow to marinate at room temp for 30mins or refrigerate for 2-4 hours.Drain off marinade.BBQ for 10-15mins or grill under high heat on foil-lined tray for 12-15mins turning occasionally.Serve with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and extra soy sauce for dipping

Mini Lamb Thai-Scented Meatballs With Sesame Mint Dip:2tsp minced garlic, 2 spring onions(finely chopped), 500gm lamb mince, 2tsp chinese five-spice powder, 2tbsp indonesian sweet soy sauce, 1 egg, 1/2cup soft white breadcrumbs, 2tbsp cornflour.GLAZE: 2tbsp toasted sesame seeds, 2tbsp soy sauce or indonesian sweet soy sauce, 4tbsp hoisin sauce.SESAME MINT DIPPING SAUCE:1tsp minced ginger, 4tbsp rice wine or cider vinegar, 2tbsp light soy sauce, 2tbsp finely chopped mint, 1tsp sugar, salt and pepper.Mix together the garlic,spring onion,lamb mince,five spice,soy sauce,egg and breadcrumbs and season with salt and pepper.The mix may be prepared in a food processor but be careful not to over process as it may turn into sausage meat.Roll the mix into small walnut-sized balls and toss in coriander.Heat a dash of olive oil and the sesame oil in a large frypan, cook meatballs, turning until brown all over.Add sesame seeds,sweet soy sauce and hoisin sauce to the pan and shake so that the meatballs are coated in the glaze and toasted sesame seeds.Place all ingrediants for the sesame mint dipping sauce in a lidded jar and shake to mix.Serve on toothpicks or skewers with dipping sauce.Makes 40-50

Nice to see this thread up and running again as I'm sure when I looked last week it was lost.

I am needing ideas for cold savoury finger foods that are not messy (do not require tomato sauce, or could cause the need for for a trip to a drycleaner), for the guests at our wedding while our photos are being taken.

There is no facility for heating food or keeping food warm. Any ideas for this type of food would be extremely appreciated. I have so far, club sandwiches, blinis with "some sort" of topping, mini quiches, cheese and crackers, vege sticks, asparagus rolls, savoury scones...

Help please, I'm sure there are many more ideas out there.

Want easy desserts for spontaneous shared meals? - make a pavlova or few, and freeze - can be served straight from the freezer as they don't freeze hard due to the sugar - or a slice or two can be cut off to serve and the rest returned to the freezer.

Prosciutto wrapped melon with viniagrette ½ medium rockmelon (850g)
12 slices (180g) prosciutto
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
¼ cup (60ml) olive oil
½ clove garlic, crushed
¼ teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh oregano


Peel and seed rockmelon; cut into 12 slices. Wrap a slice of prosciutto around each rockmelon slice.

Combine remaining ingredients in screw-top jar; shake well. Drizzle vinaigrette over rockmelon; serve with mesclun, if desired.
