Italian Mineral Water

metarzan, Oct 11, 9:56pm
Many years ago I spent a bit of time in Italy as an exchange student. I remember the family that I stayed with always had soda/mineral/carbonated water on the table.

It was made with a powder poured into one of those soda bottles. I can't remember the name or what it was called. I can't seem to find anything on Google either.

And before anyone says, it wasn't a white powder from South America either.

Does anyone know what this might be called or where I can get it from?

I had to look this up - everywhere I've been in Italy the mineral water was just bought at the local supermarket. Is this the sort of thing you mean?

I think davidt4 has the right of it. I lived in Italy for a while many years ago and yes every restaurant and many personal households had it.

However going with the times why not buy a soda stream and you can do it again right here in your NZ kitchen?
