Kick ass garlic bread URGENT

mindi1, Mar 30, 1:20am
Family lunch tomorrow and i have been hemmed in.Firm instructions:garlic bread.
So it had better be good ! Sooooooooooooo much I'd rather contribute but .
Don't want to do the usual tinfoil version, so am thinking .
Am off out to buy french bread and ciabatta (sp!), like NOW. before shops shut!
Am thinking I will thinly slice one and will toss in hot frypan with butter, garlic, parsley, S and P .
Gawd!
Having cooked gourmet meals for years I feel I am about to be judged ~ in complicated new family setup ~ on bloody garlic bread.
Thoughts NEEDED and WELCOMED.

Personally i would cook it in tinfoil. Make a good garlic (and herb if you wish) butter) and cook in foil.

Why over think! Its just garlic bread:D

I bake my own bread and cut it into thick slices and spread thickly with butter that I have mixed garlic and garlic and herb salt into. Then place on a baking tray and bake in oven till ready.

Oven Baked Garlic Bread (from the Takeaway Secret book) Serves 1 - 2

1 tablespoon butter, melted
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
pinch salt
pinch black pepper
3 - 4 large slices of ciabatta bread

Heat the oven to 220c.
In a bowl, combine the butter, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
Arrange the bread slices on a baking tray. Spread each slice generously with the garlic butter mixture.
Place the tray in the oven for 7 - 8 minutes or until the bread is crispy and golden.
Remove the tray from the oven, leave to rest for 2 - 3 minutes, and serve.

It's the best I've ever made and some of the best I've ever eaten :-)
