Unripen Apples

are they ok to cook! we have just moved into a rental and there is an apple tree at the back and all the apples keep falling off! I think they are granny smiths.very sour granny smiths! Thought I could make apple and rhubarb crumble! tia.

They could be "traditional" cooking apples - they look like granny smiths but are bigger with thicker skins and often have a rosy blush.They are very sour to eat uncooked but delicious in pies, crumbles, etc.

They will make lovely pies, cakes and crumbles etc
