Just a reminder they are out now in Hastings. Not a bad price at the strawberry farm near H. North.

I got a few "sugar pears" free, to try. They are a new variety, the ones I got were rock hard so I will let them ripen up before giving them the taste test.

I got some last year. they are very nice, sweet and the ones I had were juicy.

The sugar pears went rotten, they were picked too soon and never ripened.

same here pickles. all went rotten a few days after buying, also peaches and some apples from Meeanee, they split inhalf and were ever so floury.

what is happening to our fruit. it used to keep good for many a week in HB !

We are not able to buy the proper Golden Queen peaches now because "Watties" prefer the ones that are being grown now
I took a trip out to buy peaches yesterday and found myself grading out a little brown rot. I guess they have bred peaches that all ripen at the same time and are of a good size etc.
