I however do not use black tea at all, so hardly any tannins in my tea pots :)

It is also a myth that many herbal or green teas do not contain tannins LOL. It aint just black tea that contain them.

Make your own carpet freshener. PUt a generous amount of baking soda in a jar with a few drops of lavender oil, screw on lid, shake and leave overnight, next day sprinkle over carpetand leave an hour before vacuuming up. Will freshen the room of any lingering/ damp smells etc. I buy bakingsoda in big containers, its useful for lots of things.

I was taught that heating up a metal spoon in a cup of boiling water or under the hot tap before measuring out spoons of Golden syrup makes the syrup slide right off.

Yes but use the dishcloth. Reusable and steams any cloth residents too.
