OR, you could watch a gardening show, get inspired to produce stuff, then use the produce in your kitchen after you watch the cooking shows showing you how to cook.

cloudberry, Feb 20, 9:34pm
Way to hijack a cooking thread!

jaygee1962, Feb 20, 10:20pm
jeebers, if I wanted to be reading about gardening shows I guess I'd be over on the gardening board (or whatever they call it)

lodgelocum, Feb 20, 11:11pm
No, never saw them visit the kitchen last night, but did they on the boys night either! can't remember.

marcs, Feb 21, 8:14am
Nah no spoilers. Just commenting.

That couscous part was pathetic. I could not believe myself how you can get something so simple wrong. i think she was cooking it wrong or atleast not the way I would do it.

bedazzledjewels, Feb 21, 5:44pm
I wonder if there'll be a NZ version! Surely there are enough people prepared to make idiots of themselves on tv - and maybe a couple who can cook too!

gerry64, Feb 21, 7:07pm
It is getting too scripted and ridiculous as this series progresses - if you were going to use a specific fresh ingredient for the main component of your dish you would make sure it was available not use up all your prep time travelling an hour to buy it

marcs, Feb 22, 2:14am
I agree. I was also commenting to my husband last night that why would not pick up some extras as a safe measure rather than buy the exact amount you need if something goes wrong (which it does under pressure) so that you can whip up another batch. Mostly it is just your basic ingredients. I also don't get why they can not substitute something rather than travel an hour away and then not have enough prep time left. Or if it is something you know that may not be available like a certain type of sea food then to order it a few days ahead.

gerry64, Feb 22, 3:07am
yep marcs -its a pity they are ruining a really good concept

bhindibabe, Feb 22, 6:19am
I was laughing at those girls cos they hardly ate and said the portions were too big and when they got the one cutlet they complained it was too small.

hoonguek, Feb 22, 1:41pm
love MKR. Can't stand the 'spice girls'. one minute they pick on their food and say the quantity's too big. then programme 3, they said the starter of one cutlet was too little. love the father and son team and hope they win!

bedazzledjewels, Feb 24, 6:50pm
Is it the Spice Girls tonight! Unmissable!

lodgelocum, Feb 24, 7:02pm
Yep the Spice Girls tonight.can't wait to see their menu and what they deliver.Might be an epic fail.

bedazzledjewels, Feb 25, 12:47am
Some poetic justice tonight, I think!

duckmoon, Feb 25, 12:51am
Is their oil got enough!

lodgelocum, Feb 25, 1:04am
Two hours for the entrees, wonder how long the mains will take!

lodgelocum, Feb 25, 1:39am
That dessert would make me vomit.yuk.justice alright

sue1955, Feb 25, 1:51am
I bet they're going to play dirty with their marks for the next meals as pay back.

duckmoon, Feb 25, 11:05pm
but one team dropping their score, isn't going to mean a score as their current school. 41!

lodgelocum, Feb 25, 11:21pm
Bet they do, but the final two teams would have to be real bad to get lower than them.looking forward to tonight's show, should be good.

bedazzledjewels, Feb 25, 11:32pm
Even Peter and Gary could cook better than that! And they specialised in serving several hours late too. That poor guy from Tassie looked starving.

duckmoon, Feb 26, 1:24am
The cake isn't in the oven yet!!

lodgelocum, Feb 26, 1:35am
Those two girls are pathetic, scoring a 1! at least they got a 3 for their epic fail meal.Hope the judges are more generous.

strebor1, Feb 26, 2:04am
Well at least the judges scored better than the other contestants. They obviously didn't know what "al dente" pasta is supposed to be like, and thought it was undercooked. So consequently the contestants scored too low, because of their ignorance. I thought the entree and the dessert were pretty good for amateurs.

lodgelocum, Feb 26, 6:07pm
Good luck to the last couple tonight in this round, god sakes I hope their cooking is up to par and they beat the girls.
