was on special and looked interesting, never cooked one before and it is about 3 kg.

Is this a long slow cook cut of meat?

IMO - yes, long and slow cooking is the most likely to give you a tender result. :-))

yes, defianately long and slow, otherwise is really tough

yup. crock pot is all good. I'm doing one today and have had it on low since lunch time, but it's only 1kg, so all day for a 3kg would be melting.

slow cooker or an oven bag, and i cook it the same as a bolar roast, in an oven bag, put meat rolled in seasoned flour, an onion, carrot, tomatoes, cook on just over 150 for a couple of hours. Be careful when lifting the oven bag out or just slit it while still in oven dish and lift it out from under the meat, you can use the juices to make a lovely gravy. There will be those that like it rare, but i like it well done and tender and juicy with loads of gravy.

I don't have a slow cooker.

Maybe I will cut in half into oven bag with garlic etc.

will make it a day long job. might benefit last minute cooking by opening the bag to crisp the outside a bit.

Otherwise I have a Hawaiian oven that will deal with it nicely I am sure.

Would wrapping in foil do the same as the oven bag?

yes it would, just dont wrap it too tight, make like a tent. good luck hope you enjoy it.
