Silverbeet. Can you freeze it?

Wondering as it seems a waste not to use it all.

I roughly chop up some carrots quite small and put in bottom of a large pot. Wash silverbeet and tear the leaves into smaller pieces discarding the centre rib. Place on top of carrots, really jam the silverbeet in, add salt and a little bit of water as there is quite a bit of water clinging to the silverbeet.
Lid on pot and put over a slow heat and wait till the silverbeet has wilted away down in the steam and the carrots are cooked.Drain as much liquid as possible, chop up roughly in the pot and mix.Put meal size portions into container and freeze until needed. The carrot acts as a sweetener.

Yes you can freeze silverbeet.
I cook it first, chopped stems at the bottom of pot, chopped leaves on top after 3 minutes.
Then pack in bags or containers and freeze.
Think what you might want it for later and freeze portions accordingly. I often use it in quiches or frittatas or omelettes, so need only small packs.

Thanks to you all. I will try it.

Is it your own! Just recycle it, it grows like a weed, it is better fresh.
And cutting off the old leaves helps the plant anyway, like mint.
