Is there anywhere in Auckland where one can purchase a piece of silverside corned the old-fashioned way, I wondered if there was a butcher somewhere still practising this method! Any information would be most welcome, many thanks.

Ring up the Ponsonby Superior Meat Market in Vermont St and ask.I haven't been there for a couple of years but they used to have a brine tub and make their own corned beef and corned pork.
