please.I can never work it out properly. Normally do it in the oven but its not working at the moment. I am putting it in an oven bag. Thanks.

I was taught the same number of minutes each side as the size of the chicken. I usually do it breast down first, then turn it over and do a few minutes less on the second side then rest it for 15 minutes & check it is cooked. It can always go back in for a few minutes & rest again if necessary. For 2.5 kg I would do 25 minutes, turn it over & do 15 minutes, then rest it & check if it needs more. I always elevate the chicken slightly - rack or upturned saucer.
